Go Rafting Sjoa is located on the premises of the old village school, which is beautifully situated on a hill just off the Sjoa river. The old school building from 1922 is at the heart of the area, surrounded by large birch trees, green grass, lush fields, hot tub, sauna and rafts. Here we also offer accommodation to our guests, and with simple and cozy options both in rooms, cabins and lavvo, we have something for every taste and budget. Breakfast is served in the dining room in the old part of the school building, while lunch and dinner are served outdoors around our sheltered bonfire area. We also have a small kiosk / shop / bar at the reception.
Welcome to Go Rafting Sjoa!
Our rooms are placed in the newest part of the building, which dates from 1965. All six rooms are different in design and size and have capacity from four to seven people. All rooms have bunk beds and most also have a sleeping loft. Five of the rooms are themed from different continents, reflecting the international environment found in Sjoa and our company. The sixth room is on the premises of the former teacher’s room and has been named Elvesuiten (the River Suite). Not because the room is of higher standard than the others, but because of its fantastic view over the Sjoa river.
Most of our rooms are south-west facing with great views of the Sjoa river.
Price: NOK 390,- per person
Beds: 4–7 per room
The price includes breakfast and final cleaning. Shared shower and sanitary facilities in the main building.

Lavvo at Go Rafting Sjoa
If you want more of a wilderness feel on your stay, or simply want more clean and fresh air, we recommend our lavvos. The lavvos are located at one side of our area and encircles a separate campfire. Our lavvos are equipped with wooden floors for increased sleeping comfort and better hygiene. This is a great accommodation option if you want outdoor life, and maybe arrange some of the meals on camp site. For security reasons, we do not have fire places inside the lavvos, but bonfire with seat benches around, right outside.
Price: NOK 230,- per person
Breakfast is included. The price also includes access to shared showers and sanitary facilities in the main building.
Bring good sleeping mats and warm sleeping bags.

White Water Rafting
From May to October, Sjoa and Heidal are full of happy river people. Whether they are on a rafting trip, kayaking or swimming down Sjoa on river boards, they have one thing in common – the joy of experiencing one of the world’s best rivers. Among the range of river activities offered, rafting in Sjoa is still by far our most popular activity.
You stand on the bridge, outside the railing. Far below you can see the gushing Sjoa river. You are solidly secured with climbing harnesses and climbing ropes, and the only thing you need to do is to let go…
White Water Family Rafting
White water family rafting is suited to both those who are too young to go on the regular Sjoa trips, as much as for those who want a cautious approach to rafting. We adapt our family rafting to water levels and needs, and run the trip either in the Upper Sjoa or on the mighty Otta river. This way we can always offer a great trip for the whole family.
